Throughout its history, Earth has been characterized by constant change, from the continuous movement of tectonic plates to the evolving climate that facilitated the emergence of life and the ongoing asteroid impacts that have shaped its course. PaleoEarth offers a comprehensive consolidation of diverse data sets, offering a unique perspective on Earth's dynamic past. Noteworthy features include:

  • Visualization of continental plate movements, subduction zones, and mid-ocean ridges spanning the last 50 million years.
  • Identification of major asteroid impact sites, tracking their migration due to tectonic plate motion from the time of impact to their current positions.
  • Comparison of Earth's historical temperature and atmospheric CO2 levels with present-day metrics over the last 50 million years.
